Makeover Plans for the Powder Room!
Last Updated on August 10, 2021
Hi friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. I enjoyed a much needed long-weekend and, of course, completed some DIY projects :) I also had come time to focus on plans for an upcoming makeover of our powder room and it all started at Ace Hardware, which leads me to a VERY exciting announcement…
I am now part of Ace Hardware's blogger panel! {SQUEAL!}

Can you tell I am excited? Ace Hardware works with 8 bloggers all over the country. I still can't quite believe I am one of them. SO EXCITED. I will be working on one Ace project per month.
With our kitchen makeover almost done, we have decided to turn our attention to the powder room next. This is what we are starting with {this photo was taken before we moved in, but we haven't changed a thing, though rest assured the plant did NOT stay}.
This is the mood board that I have come up with, which will be our road map as we complete our powder room makeover (you can learn how to make mood boards here).. I cannot WAIT to get started.
Not surprisingly, our first step will be painting the walls :) The boring, beige walls have to go.
So this month, I checked out Ace's new paint studio. Have you heard of it? The Paint Studio launched in 3,200 Ace Hardware stores this month and makes choosing paint colors a much more relaxing experience than at a huge home improvement store.
The Paint Studio is like a store within a store, so it feels more like you are shopping in a boutique, especially when you add in the helpfulness that Ace is known for {let's just say there is a reason that Ace has won the J.D. Power award for highest customer satisfaction 7 years in a row}. You can even start the paint selection process in the comfort of your own home by going to The Paint Studio website.
I knew I wanted a light blue with green undertones, and The Paint Studio's boutique feel made it easy to zero in on the colors that were in the range I wanted. I pretty quickly decided on Palace of Versailles by Clark+Kensington {doesn't it even sound gorgeous?} Choosing the orange accent color was a bit more difficult, because I have NEVER painted any portion of a room orange. But, I settled on Amaryllis by Clark+Kensington after chatting with Joe and the Ace employee who was helping us. This will be my first time painting with Clark+Kensington. I have heard great things about it, so I can't wait to try it out for myself.
Now, I know not all of my readers are so decisive when it comes to picking out paint. Need help? You really should check out The Paint Studio in person. The Paint Studio includes mood-inspired palettes displayed in unique drawers {like cosmetic drawers in high-end beauty stores} and bright lighting to make color selection more simple. Plus, the coolest thing I noticed while I was at The Paint Studio was this display, which features 120 colors that ALL GO WELL TOGETHER. If you are timid about choosing paint colors for your home, this would be a great place to start!
You have no idea how excited I am to get some these cans of paint off the back of our toilet and to get these G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. colors on the walls of our powder room! I bet you are VERY curious to see how I use that bold orange color, aren't you? Stay tuned!
I am a member of the Ace Bloggers Panel and Ace Hardware has provided with free paint to complete my project. I was also compensated for my time and this blog post. All opinions and positions expressed here are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of Ace Hardware.

Love your color choices, Tasha! Your bathroom is going to look amazing. Can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Thanks so much, Jena! I am about 90% done at this point. SO impressed with the Clark+Kensington paint! This was my first time using it.
This is awesome! Congrats!
Congrats Tasha! Awesome inspiration – can’t wait to see it!
Thank you so much, Krista! I am anxious to get started on the powder room, but I have to wait until we are totally done with the kitchen or my poor husband’s brain might explode :) Have a great weekend!
