Supplies Needed to Make DIY Christmas Pillows From Placemats
- A placemat of your choice! I used three awesome placemats from Target, all of which were on clearance for $1.99. I always browse the placemats at Target and snap up any placemats with pillow potential :)
- Polyester fiber fill
- Seam ripper
- Needle and thread
How to Make DIY Christmas Pillows From Placemats
1) Use your seam ripper to remove about 5 inches of stitching along one edge of your placemat. You need to create an opening large enough for your hand to fit in.
2) Fill your placemat with polyester fiber fill.
3) Stitch your placemat closed again.
YEP. It's that easy to make these DIY Christmas pillows! Don't believe me? Watch just how quickly this project moves along with this short video. Enjoy :)

I did this this summer for a friend. Instead of polyfill I just used an exiting pillow…travel one. It fit perfect. Love easy and simple ideas.
Thank you for your tutorial. Nice one.
Awesome Carmen, that’s a great idea! Thanks for reading.
I did this last year for Valentines Day with a heart placemat. Super easy, but the fluff was funky in mine, lol. Rectangle is much easier I’m sure!
