Serene Master Bedroom Wish List

October 23, 2015

Hi friends! If you follow me on social media, you know that I am daydreaming of a master bedroom makeover. I am not sure when we will get around to it, but it's been super fun for me to start making plans for it in my head. I know I want to create a serene room, full of interesting patterns and textures.  I need the serenity because THIS, my friends, is what our master bedroom looked like when we moved in.

Ummm….yeah.  So far, we have painted our master bedroom a serene color {Morning Fog, by Olympic}, made some temporary curtains from flat sheets and installed new laminate flooring, but our bedroom still needs a serious furniture upgrade and an overall design plan.  We will get there…eventually.  Currently, our bedroom is full of furniture that we built 13 years ago {which is the first furniture we EVER built}, a poorly painted thrift store dresser and our outdoor furniture {yep, that chair with the red cushions is from our old screened in porch and is part of our outdoor furniture set}.  But you have to do the best with what you have until you can do what you really want, right?!  THIS is what our master bedroom looks like right now.  A big improvement, but we have a long way to go.

WOW! Never underestimate the power of some paint and new flooring! This room was totally transformed with those two elements. Come learn more about master bedroom decor ideas at Designer Trapped in a Lawyer's Body.

I am so excited that I’ve teamed up with and selected a series of items that would get anyone started off on the right foot towards creating a serene bedroom of their own.  Take a look at my blogger picks and learn all about why I think they are perfect pieces to create a serene bedroom retreat.  Just click on any image you want to learn more about.  This is the bedroom that I dream about :)

Tufted Headboards

Nail Button Tufted Wingback Headboard

This headboard has the perfect balance of texture and clean lines.  The straight lines and nailhead trim give it a masculine feel, but the tufting and linen fabric are feminine, making this a perfect choice for a master bedroom.

Area rugs

Mystique Teal Green Rug

The subtle, but modern, pattern of this gorgeous teal rug is perfect for setting the tone for a serene bedroom.  This large area rug helps ground the space and provides a soft, warm landing for your feet in the morning!

bedding sets

/Harbor House Belcourt Duvet Collection

What’s not to love about this duvet set?  The jewel tone blues and greens are soothing and stunning.  And I love the modern but timeless paisley pattern.  It’s feminine, but also masculine.  The perfect balance for a bedroom shared by a couple.

table lamps

Textured Table Lamp with Drum Shade

Table lamps can add so much texture and pattern to a room.  I love that these lamps combine a subtly striped base with a geometric shade.  It’s the perfect balance of pattern and interest.  These would looking stunning on nightstands.

end tables

Alya Campaign End Table

This campaign end table is perfection.  It is stylish, but also practical because it offers a drawer.  The x shaped legs offer a unique look that both men and women will love.  And of course, the campaign hardware, is on trend right now!

Moderne Muse 5 Drawer media Chest

This dresser offers tons of storage AND loads of style.  The shape and finish are masculine, but the curved handles offer a feminine flair.  And who doesn’t love the card catalog hardware?  Such a hot trend right now!

What is your favorite piece?  I think mine is that awesome headboard!  What kind of space do you want your master bedroom to be?
