Before I share with you this  oldie, but goodie recipe {with a twist}, I am going to remind you that I am guest posting on the AMAZING Remodelaholic blog {it's one of my absolute FAVORITE blogs} today!!!!  I would love for you to head over and check it out HERE.  Be sure to check out other posts while you are over there.  It really is a phenomenal blog and will quickly become one of your favorites, if it isn't already!

Now, let me tell you that your kids will LOVE making these delicious St. Patrick's Day Rice Krispies Treats with you!  My girls and I had SO much for making these and after we were done, we took them to Joe who was on shift.  It's always fun to share treats with the firefighters because they are so appreciative.

The recipe is the classic recipe, with the addition of white chocolate chips and green food coloring.  So EASY!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 package (10.5 oz.) mini or regular marshmallows
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies or rice puff cereal
  • 1 bag (11 ounces) white chocolate chips
  • Green food coloring

Directions

1) In a large saucepan, melt your butter over low heat.  Add the marshmallows and stir until they are completely melted.

2) Remove the melted mixture from the heat.  Now add your green food coloring.  Add as much as you want to achieve the color that you want.

3) Pour the mixture on top of the Rice Krispies and stir until combined.  Now, add as many white chocolate chips as you want–I used the whole bag.  Stir again.

4) Spray a 9 x 13 dish with non-stick spray and press the mixture into the dish.  Allow the treats to cool and then cut into squares and serve!
