Laundry rules have changed! Save LOADS of time and stop sorting now! #LaundrySimplified #shopI am popping in today to tell you about a total laundry game changer:  you can stop sorting laundry!  WHAT?!  Yep, you read that correctly.  Read on to learn about how to stop color bleeding accidents and simplify your laundry routine.  #LaundrySimplified

I don't love doing laundry.  It's much better since we completed our $71 Laundry Room Makeover, but let's face it…laundry just is not fun.  Anything I can do to minimize laundry in our house is a plus.  So I was very excited to learn that THE RULES HAVE CHANGED!  You don't have to sort laundry anymore with Purex® No Sort™ detergent.

If you are like me, you have a firm belief in washing your whites and colors separately.  After having a few color bleeding accidents, I am pretty paranoid about it.  I lost my favorite, basic J. Crew white t-shirt to a color bleeding accident about a year ago {cough–it was Joe's fault, but don't tell him I said that–cough}.  It is now very pink.

Needless to say, I was a bit nervous to try Purex® No Sort™ detergent for the first time.  But then I learned that it has breakthrough Anti-Color-Transfer Technology which traps loose dyes in the wash and does not let them settle onto other fabrics.  I was intrigued, so I picked some up on a recent trip to Walmart.  {PS- it's a GREAT value.  Much less expensive than other detergents we have used}.

Laundry rules have changed! Save LOADS of time and stop sorting now! #LaundrySimplified #shopI don't know about you, but we generate WAY MORE darks than whites when it comes to laundry.  So we always end up doing a tiny load of whites that could easily be combined with our larger dark loads if we didn't have to worry about color bleeding accidents.  More loads = more time spent doing laundry = not a happy camper.

I was excited and a tad nervous this past weekend when I finally combined our tiny load of whites with our colors.  I must admit it felt a bit scandalous to see my washing machine jam packed with white and colored clothes.  It took a bit to get over my “must sort” attitude.

Laundry rules have changed! Save LOADS of time and stop sorting now! #LaundrySimplified #shopGuess what?  Everything came out perfectly.  The whites were still white!  No color bleeding accidents!  And I was beyond thrilled that I ELIMINATED A LOAD OF LAUNDRY.  Not only did it save me time, it saved us money because we used less detergent, less water and less electricity.  SUCCESS!

I love, love, love saving money on our laundry because it means we will have more money to spend on home improvement projects.  How awesome is that?  That means more DIY projects for you to read about!

Now, you should note that Purex® No Sort™ detergent can't perform miracles.  The label specifically notes the following advice: “wash strongly colored fabrics or new pieces of clothing, especially jeans, separately at least 5 times before doing a mixed color load with Purex® No Sort™ detergent.”  I can totally live with that since we very rarely buy new clothes.

Be sure to check out Purex® No Sort™ detergent to whether it's a great option for your family!  You can also find Purex on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and YouTube.  I can tell you that I am happy to say Purex® No Sort™ detergent will be a constant item in our laundry room.

Now, PLEASE tell me, what other fantastic tips do you have for saving time with your laundry routine?  What would you do with the money you could save by using Purex® No Sort™?

  1. This is awesome!! With 3 little dirtballs, I mean kids, it is hard to keep anything sorted…let alone the laundry! I have always liked Purex Free and Clear because my husband has perfume allergies, but I will have to try the No Sort. Thanks for sharing…have a great SITS Day!!

    1. Hi Samantha! I am beyond thrilled to have dissevered this laundry detergent. It has totally changed our approach to laundry. I love saving time and money!

  2. I had never even heard of this – thanks for the information! I haven’t paid much heed to the instructions I received with my front-load washer. It recommended sorting not only by color but by similar types and weights of items. It makes sense – but who wants to do a billion loads! Not having to sort by color would make this a possibility! Great post – and Happy SITS day!

  3. Might have to pick up some of this! Right now, my laundry is sorted into “big clothes” and “small clothes” so I can use the line. The stuff that won’t hang easily is in a separate basket so it can go in the dryer. LOL

  4. I have to say over and over again, I am so impressed with Purex. My mother was a Tide user and so was I until this past year when we had our new washer delivered. Although the manufacturer of our washer recommends Tide, the delivery guy mentioned a few problems he’s experienced or noticed while using Tide. What he was saying made perfect sense. So I decided to try Purex since that’s what he was very happy with. I fell in love! It does the same thing as Tide and smells great too. Best of all, it’s half the price! I always find it on sale at CVS or Rite-Aid as a buy one get two free!! I stock up at that time. Thank you for sharing your find with us! I hadn’t seen nor heard of this one so I think I’m going to brave it and try it. Thanks again!

    1. Purex is fabulous, isn’t it, Tina?! I can’t quite get over what a bargain it is and this new product is a total game changer. I am in love with it! You should definitely try it!

  5. Thanks Tasha for the great tip! I will have to try it! Anything to eliminate a load of laundry! Thanks! Hope you and your family are well!
