Hey y'all! In case you didn't get the memo already, Thanksgiving is nearly here. WHAT?! Ummmm, yeah. Time is ticking folks. And this is the first year we are hosting Thanksgiving. Granted, it's just for a few close friends, but we want it to be a beautiful and fun day so I was more than a little excited to come up with a simple Thanksgiving table setting. I love color and texture, but I tend not to go overboard with accessories, and this Thanksgiving table is a perfect example.
Before I let you scroll through all the photos, let me tell you the number one trick to setting our dining room table. I'll give you a hint… It's actually what happens BEFORE I set the table.

Y'all this Mohawk Scratch & Mark Resister Polish is AH-MAZING. It doesn't just clean and polish your table, it is actually designed to make finished wood surfaces more resistant to scratches and marring than an untreated surface by adding surface lubrication. More importantly, it actually works. No more cringing when someone scoots a dish across your table :) The scratch and mar protects your wood table. Since we recently refinished our dining room table {you can see that tutorial here}, we definitely want to keep it protected and enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner instead of worrying about it getting marked up by all the movement.
Once I cleaned and protected my table, I was ready to add the very simple Thanksgiving table decor, nearly all of which I purchased at World Market {see the bottom of this post for a source list}. No project of mine would be complete with some DIY craft projects, and our Thanksgiving table includes 3 DIY projects: the apple centerpiece and the wood slice place card holders {you can see the tutorial for those here} and the place cards themselves. Check back later this week for the apple centerpiece and place card tutorials :)
Now, enough chatter, let me show off my work. This post is photo heavy, so enjoy! I hope you will feel inspired to create your own beautiful Thanksgiving table that include some of your own DIY craft projects when you are done looking at this post :)
What do you think?! I am so happy with how everything turned out. It will be a beautiful, but very comfortable and relaxed setting for our Thanksgiving dinner :) Now, before I go you can find the source list to the items we purchased for our Thanksgiving table below:
