$10 DIY Photo Canvases with Authentic Texture

DIY photo canvases are EASY to make and look just as great as expensive, store-bought options!

Supplies needed:

– Art canvases – Enlarged photo prints on photo paper -  Mod Podge Matte Finish – Foam brushes – Black paint (latex, acrylic, chalkboard, etc. are all fine to use) – Exacto knife – Cutting board

Have a photo PROFESSIONALLY Printed.   do not recommend printing them at home–I've heard from many, many people telling me the Mod Podge smeared their photos that were printed at home (even if printed on nice photo paper).

STEP 1

Paint the edges of the canvas black. If you are upcycling an old canvas, paint the entire canvas black.

STEP 2

After your paint dries (if you painted your canvas), use your foam brush to coat the top of your canvas with a layer of Mod Podge.

STEP 3

Apply your photo directly on top of the wet Mod Podge and let it dry completely. After it's totally dry, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the top of the photo.
