Easy DIY Wood Slat Wall Treatment

Add interest to any area of your home with this DIY wood slat wall treatment! This project was really easy and affordable. Best of all, it makes a HUGE impact in a small space.

Materials needed:

– 3/8″ square wood dowels. I used 47 pieces for this area. – Wood Glue – Compound miter saw – Finishing nailer – Paint in colors of your choice.  – Spackle – Sandpaper

Start by cutting all of your wood dowels to length. I set up a simple jig once I determined the correct length so that I could cut 4 at a time without measuring each time.

STEP 1

Paint 3 sides of each wood dowel in whatever colors you like.

STEP 2

I used Bee, Swimming, Oleander and Quite Coral by Sherwin-Williams as well as Coral Crush by General Finishes Milk Paint to paint my wood dowels.

Use wood glue and a finishing nailer to attach the wood dowels to your wall.

STEP 3

Fill any nail holes with spackle. Once dry, sand and touch up the paint.
