It all began when I was about 10- years-old.
I had a happy childhood, but it was unpredictable and hectic--my mom suffered from mental illness and her moods were up and down and all around.
Around the time I turned 10 I was given my own room. I quickly realized that I had the power to create a space that I loved! That way, no matter my mom's mood, I felt happy every day when I opened my eyes and went to sleep. Organizing and decorating my bedroom literally gave me life!
That's when my obsession with interiors began. And it's still going strong.
I believe that if you don't love your home, you aren't living your best life. And I'm here to help you change that!
sleeping late, changing into PJs the instant I enter my home, finding anything online, working smarter not harder
morning coffee, making my bed (and cleaning the dog hair off of it every dang day), cooking dinner, breaking down cardboard boxes from deliveries
listening to an audiobook, snuggling my Bernese Mountain Dog, eating sushi, painting any stationary surface, mentally
re-designing every room I see
big crowds, fixing hair, doing makeup, useless decor, neutrals, home renovation debt, trying to please everyone, snakes & sharks (totally phobic)
C O L O R, pattern, just trying it, learning constantly, dogs, trusting my gut, ignoring trends, finding a way to do it for less, splurging occasionally
My passion is helping people create spaces they love, no matter their budget.
My super power is using color in fun & sophisticated ways.
Hi, I’m Tasha. I’m from the great state of North Carolina (a phrase I use often) and have always lived in the South. Yes, I know I don’t have a Southern accent—my mom trained it out of me now I totally resent the fact that I don’t have one. I know, it’s weird.
My husband, Joe, and I have been married for almost 20 years and have been together since we were 19-years-old. After a 5 1/2 year infertility journey, we had our friggin' amazing twin girls thanks to IVF. We live in the triad area with our Bernese Mountain Dog, Riggins (you should know I'm absolutely O.B.S.E.S.S.E.D with Riggins).
Brace yourself for this next tidbit... I was a civil defense trial attorney for 14 years 😱 Even though I was a partner, I gave it all up in 2016 to focus on my passion for DIYing my way to beautiful interior spaces. It's the best decision I have ever made.
Joe and I have been DIY addicts since we purchased our first home in 2002. We became DIYers because it’s the only way we could create the home we wanted within our budget. We started with some basic hand tools, a circular saw and a straight edge and built furniture, built-in bookcases, an entire closet system in our first home. Since those days we've acquired a whole lot of tools and tackled a whole lot of projects ever since then.
Through creative DIY projects and hunting down affordable home decor, we have been able to design homes (we are in our 5th house) that we LOVE without spending a fortune. I firmly believe that having a home we love is a huge reason for how happy and fulfilled we are as a family. Our home is our happy place, plain and simple.
And now I've completely obsessed with and devoted to helping others create homes they love.
